How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Amazing! The website gave me all the info I needed to make a confident purchase without having seen the shoes in real life.

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Feather Sandals. Where do I start? They were so much more comfortable than I expected! The leather is buttery soft and the colour was absolutely perfect for the look I wanted. Plus tassels! I love tassels!

How did you and your husband meet?

Every 14 minutes, somebody finds love on eHarmony – we were part of that statistic!

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

8 and a half years. Kris is a very simple guy that does not often talk about his emotions, so I wasn’t expecting anything over the top. He took me for a sunset picnic (which we like to do a lot) up on Arthur’s seat which overlooks the beach we live at. He insisted on bringing our new puppy Alfie as he wanted the whole “family” to be present for the occasion. He asked me to marry him as the sun went down.

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

He makes me feel safe and chills me out.

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Joyful

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

I had two moments that really stand out for me. Standing arm in arm with my dad before we turned the corner to walk down the aisle was really special. I could see he was very excited and emotional which meant a lot.
Secondly, when one of my favourite songs was played late in the evening and nearly every guest was on the dance floor singing at the top of their lungs. Being surrounded by so many people I love all celebrating the same moment in pure joy was everything I was hoping my reception would be.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

The Shearing Shed on Phillip Island. My parents had their wedding in a barn back in 1971, so I was very set on continuing that tradition for my own wedding. In my search for barn wedding locations in Victoria I came across the Shearing Shed and even though I had never heard of it before it ticked basically every box. Phillip Island was the perfect location as it blends both Kris and my background perfectly. He is from the country and so the rustic feel suited him, and I have lived on the beach my entire life so being on an island was ideal! The venue offers a beautifully established space but still gives couples the opportunity to add their own personality and creativity to it. Which was perfect as I had a vision I was hoping to create that not many existing venues provide. We also wanted a place that offered a lovely backup indoor option in case the weather was unfriendly, and the Shearing Shed has exactly that!

Who created your gorgeous gown?

D'italia Couture

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

Honestly, not a whole heap different! It's definitely a sense of comfort, and lovely knowing we are officially our own little family now.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We head off in 5 weeks to Europe! We will be starting in the Greek Islands, before exploring several parts of Spain. To say we're excited is a massive understatement!

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

You will be pushed to your emotional limit in the lead up to the wedding. And everyone will tell you it will “all be worth on the day” – and they are 100% right. You will forget everything that has gone wrong and stressed you out and you will be so happy you could burst. Take a moment to hold your partner’s hand and look at each other, without anyone else around. Be true to yourself and don’t let others influence your decisions, you will be happy you did.
