A few words from the bride...

'Our wedding was a really special day.. one I will never forget.. so full of love. As for your sandals, I remember seeing these when I was 16 and thought that one day when I got married I would wear them! My mother in law gave me a necklace that Dave bought for her when he was 10 from his own pocket money, and I wore it as my headpiece, and the sandals matched it perfectly.
I have always loved being bare foot since I was young, so I loved feeling myself on my wedding day.. but also like a goddess with jewel-adorned feet... Just as every bride should on their day - feel totally themselves in their unveiled beauty, fully feminine, and all ready to meet their love waiting for them.

Thank you again, and for the love you put into crafting your pieces of work'.

What’s your husbands name?

Dave - in full, David Joseph Weekes :)

Where are you guys from?

We are both from Toowoomba!

Where was the location of your ceremony and wedding?

We wanted a local wedding as we have a lot of siblings with kids, so we had both just out of Toowoomba in a little town called Highfields. The ceremony was in a little park called 'Davidson Arboretum', which is a cute little tree-y park, and it was really special because it was the place Dave first asked me out. Our reception was at our school we both went to - they have a function facility up the back of the school called 'the Treehouse' - its a wooden pole building surrounded by trees with views, and with beautiful sunsets!

Who created your gorgeous dress and bridesmaid dresses?

My dress was from a local shop in Toowoomba called 'Wedding World' - I went to all of the shops and all the dresses felt the same.. then the lady brought out my dress - it was one of a kind and it was perfect. I hadn't seen any like it anywhere else! The bridesmaids dresses were actually from a site online - I told them what I wanted and they made them exactly how I described, and it was incredibly affordable too. I really loved the bridesmaids dresses, they were really comfortable for the girls, and flowy and feminine.. they were perfect :)

Who was apart of creating your beautiful wedding?

We actually did pretty much everything by ourselves or with help of friends and family! We did have really cool food for our reception though - we ate woodfired pizza which was AMAZING.. a company called 'Fire N Dough' from Brisbane traveled up and set up wood fired ovens and cook entree's through to desserts, our guests loved them! It also gave a real relaxed and fun vibe to the night. Also, our photographer was amazing... Lily Fern Photography, she is beautiful and so fun to work with, and I loooovvveee her photos!

What was your aisle song and first dance song?

Our aisle song was "Sailboats" by Brooke Fraser.. When I was a teenager I remember wanting to use that song. When the time came, I looked at a whole bunch of other songs, but that one was on my heart. When I first showed it to Dave before the wedding, he had tears in his eyes and said, "Clara, that is so perfect. It is perfect for us." It made the moment so special. Our first dance song was "Tenerife Sea" by Ed Sheeran - its always been 'our song'! We still dance to it :)

What is one word that would best describe your wedding?

Hmmm. Divine. I feel like that word covers everything.. divinely full of love, divinely joyful, divinely special, divinely real, divinely different.. just divine :)

What is the most amazing thing about your relationship together?

Definitely our bond together and with God. Our relationship is so full of love, connection and strength. We've always been best friends and had a desire and love to just stick together.. and I think that is because of our special bond.

What was the most challenging part of organising a wedding?

The most challenging thing was definitely all the little details to organise that you don't really think of! The little details felt so endless.. and it made us realise why people like to hire wedding planners!

What is one scene in the wedding that will forever be in your memory?

There is so many... but definitely the moment I saw Dave when I stepped through the curtains to walk down the aisle. He broke down and cried, and smiled so big at the same time. I remember not even seeing anyone else around me.. my heart was captured by him. And I could not wipe the smile off my face! My dad was telling me to walk slower... but I honestly wanted to run down the aisle and embrace my Dave.. oh my it was a moment I will never forget :)

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

It was wonderful!! I was so so so excited to wear my barefoot sandals.. logistically, the parcel arrived quickly. everyone was lovely to deal with and there were no dramas. On a deeper level, I felt like receiving the sandals in their special little bag and wearing them on the day captured the essence of femininity and a free spirit.. I felt beautiful, myself, wild, and womanly.. what else could you want when it's your special day. <3

Thank you Clara & Dave for sharing your most special day with us! xox
