How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Once I saw I found the brand on instagram, I was obsessed. I couldn’t tell you how long I spent scrolling through all the designs trying to find my ‘one’! For a while, I had my heart set on a pair of pastel blue shoes but I waited too long and they sold out in my size, then debated over getting a ruby pair or the Melody beaded heels. I finally decided to go with the pair I first saw, the MELODY LOW HEELS IVORY and I had no regrets!

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Melody Low Heels ins Ivory. The beaded flower detail – simply gorgeous!

How did you and your husband meet?

A chance meeting on New Years Eve at Falls Festival, where Dave was lost in the crowd and happened upon college friend, who was with her hometown girlfriends, of which I was one.

I was immediately drawn to this handsome dark-haired guy who was confident enough to hang out with a group of girls, even though he only knew one of them, so I instantly staked my claim amongst the single girls in the group, saying, …..and I quote…. that I “bagged him….. Dave was mine”, which gave him no other option, than to kiss me at midnight!

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We’ve been together for over 12 years and he popped to question on a mountain top in Whistler, Canada (where we currently live) as we were watching the sun set.

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

His encouragement, endless patience and support when it comes to me learning new hobbies!

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Beyond.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

Ah! There were too many to choose! But if I was to choose one... listening to my dad and sister perform a song they both wrote for us. It was a very special moment.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

We were extremely fortunate to get married at Mewburn Park in Maffra, Victoria. I was planning the wedding from Canada and we were originally planning to get married in Rochester at my parents house, but then came the floods so we quickly had to pivot and find a new location. We looked at places around the Bendigo area and also in Gippsland (where Dave is from) and were recommended to see if Mewburn had availability and they magically had a last minute opening on the same day we planned to get married! It was meant to be!

Who created your gorgeous gown?

Alena Leena Bridal – The Santolina Gown and my reception dress I got from Etsy, Have Dress Store and it was the Jade Dress.

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

Outsource everything on the day so all you have to do is sit back, get your hair and makeup done and enjoy yourself! And definitely opt for a champaign tower instead of a cake! My mum also shared some very powerful advice, that your guests will have fun if they see you (bride and groom) having fun so make sure that you let go of the small details and focus on having a blast, cause the time will fly!
