How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

The Forever Soles customer service is impeccable. It really helps when you are experiencing the pressure of a bride-to-be, and you feel like you have people that really care about helping you.

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Honey Sandals. I tried on so many pairs of wedding shoes but I felt like I was having to sacrifice either comfort or design. I LOVED that my Forever Soles shoes were so comfortable (I happily kept them on all night), and so insanely beautiful. I also loved that it is an Australian brand, I wanted to choose Australian pieces for my wedding day look since we were getting married overseas.

How did you and your husband meet?

We worked in the same building and I might have engineered a building party so that I could meet him... Since I was one of the 'organisers' I approached him with a tray of jelly shots and the rest is history.

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We've been together now for almost seven years. Sam proposed in 2019 in Lake Como while we were on a holiday in Europe. Sam is from the UK so whenever we go back to see family and friends we tack on a few extra days to visit our favourite places (read: Italy). We were just doing our thing, cooking fresh produce from the local Italian market in our Airbnb and drinking proseco. I got in the shower while waiting for dinner to finish cooking, came out and saw the whole terrace was filled with candles and flowers. At this point we had been together for three years, I was not expecting it, and was completely taken by surprise! It was so special.

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

His nature. He is so warm, caring, thoughtful, genuine and generous.

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

MAGIC

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

We hired a local Italian accordion player to surprise guests during the reception. He sung 'That's Amore' and everyone cheered, sang and danced, and laughed to the point of crying! Turns out he was an incredible performer and created this unexpectedly amazing moment.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

Lake Como, Italy (specifically just south of Bellagio). We both live in Sydney, but Sam has a massive family in the UK and I have quite a small family in Australia, so we were always planning to head somewhere near the UK. We decided on Lake Como because it is where we got engaged, and it was also super special to be married in a country where family and love is so important in the culture.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

Corston Couture, based in Paddington, Sydney.

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

We were engaged for over three years because our wedding in Italy was booked for 2020! We rescheduled four times due to Covid (and had a couple of thoughts about cutting our losses and changing the plan) but it was super important to us to have Sam's family there and we are SO glad that we waited. So a mixture of the best kind of relief and pure joy.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We spent a week before our wedding in Lake Como and a week after our wedding in Tuscany! It was just the most amazing two weeks. Some of our friends waited to have their honeymoons until after our wedding so there were a bunch of us enjoying honeymoon bliss in Italy!

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

Yes! Before the wedding: the things you are sweating about now, won't even cross your mind on the day. During the wedding: slow it right down! Live literally every single moment of your precious day.
