How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

So easy and stress free. My shoes were a perfect fit and arrived so quickly – the size guide, care information and customer service made the whole process so easy.

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding and what was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Passion Heels! They were so beautiful to wear, the colour was so vibrant and they were incredibly comfortable – I never felt the need to take them off.

How did you and your husband meet?

We first met way back in 2005, when we were both working at a Blockbuster video but we didn't start dating until 2010.

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

In September 2021, we’ll have been together for 11 years. For my 30th, Mick organised a trip down to Melbourne in October to see the Harry Potter play. He booked the flights and accommodation a good six-months in advance. We arrived in Melbourne and spent the day shopping, eating, drinking and wandering around Fitzroy. We went out for dinner and ended the night by listening to some live jazz music at some local bars.

The next morning we had planned to get up early to get breakfast and make the most of the day. Early turned into about 9.30 when we decided we should finally get up and get organised. We headed out at about 10.30 to find somewhere to eat and on the way Mick said he wanted to look at some street art that had caught his eye.

Mick had already started crossing the road, so I followed. We wandered down the laneway and about half way down, Mick stopped, pointed to the wall on his right and said, "oh, what do you think about this one?” I looked to my right, froze and the tears started streaming down my face. Mick had worked with a street artist to design a mural that read, "Will you marry me Nalini?" with a scroll which read "9 years so far, how about forever?". When I turned around, Mick was on his knee!

It was seriously the most amazing and unexpected proposal!! I had pretty much given up hope that this day would ever come!

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

So many things! He has such a genuine, supportive, caring nature – he makes me laugh every single day, is an incredible cook and he’s so handsome – I just think he is the best person!

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Perfect!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

The ceremony, finally seeing Mick waiting at the end of aisle, knowing that we down to the pointy end and about to start our new chapter!

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

We got married at Mona Farm, Braidwood NSW – we came across this venue by chance, scrolling through Instagram. We went and had a venue visit and from the minute we arrived, we could picture the whole wedding weekend playing out – it was the perfect mini destination, being only 1 hour out of Canberra.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

Karen Willis Holmes

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

It feels so great to be married to Mick after all these years – our relationship is still just as happy and as ever before!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We were so lucky to have spent three weeks travelling around Tasmania – there’s so much amazing produce to sample, sights to see and adventures to be had! If you haven’t been, we highly recommend – we can’t wait to go back!

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

Once you’ve locked in your venue, the rest will fall into place – we knew there were four things (celebrant, photo & video, food & drink and music), which were the most important to us. Once these things were locked in we found that we were pretty relaxed about everything else. If at all possible, try to give yourself enough time to be able to plan and work out what you want your wedding to look like (we were married 18 months from the time we were engaged). Approach tasks one by one, and remember there’s always a solution if something isn’t going quite right. At the end of the day remember that your wedding should be a reflection of you and your partner.
