How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

I was a bit panicked at first because I know how quickly Forever Soles sells out. They're so popular, I had myself on a waitlist. Once they arrived, I realised in my rush that I had purchased the wrong size! The team at Forever Soles were super quick at fixing this for me and assured me my shoes would arrive on time - and they did, even earlier than expected!

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Melody Low Heels in ivory. They're stunning! I love the ankle ribbon and the detailing in the pearl flowers. I can't believe how comfy they are, I didn't even need to change into my sneakers! Comfiest dancing shoes I can't wait to wear over and over again.

How did you and your husband meet?

We technically met at year 10 formal, but didn't take any notice of each other. It wasn't until 5 years later that we got to know each other. The geographical convenience of his best friend living at the end of my street definitely helped. Several carpool trips later and we couldn't get enough of each other!

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We don't have an exact date when we got together. We slowly began to spend a lot of time together and fell in love so gradually that we couldn't figure out when we actually started. It was sometime in 2015, so we have been together about 5 years when he proposed in November 2020 in Crystal Creek Rainforest. He didn't have the ring on him (I wouldn't leave his side in the lead up to our trip so he couldn't go pick it up!), so he made one out of ribbon. 1 year and 8 months later, we were married!

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

He has the biggest heart and he makes me feel so loved! He makes the boring things fun and everything always feels better with him by my side. He is my biggest supporter and inspires me to be the best version of myself. I just love him so much!

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Fun!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

Before our church ceremony, we said our own personal vows at our First Looks in the park. This part was so special and we got a moment to be just us before the big events of the day.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

We kept everything in our hometown Sydney, Australia. We got married at St Francis of Assisi's Catholic Church in Paddinton, with a reception at Centennial Homestead, Centennial Park. The church was beautiful and open, with so much natural light and colourful stain glass windows. The reception was a short walk from the church, through the beautiful parklands, and with local pubs along the way for our guests to stop off at while we took our photos. Centennial homestead had spaces inside and out, to accommodate our cocktail wedding. Guests loved the freedom to move about.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

I wore Zola by Evie Young from Luv Bridal. For the church ceremony, I added a tulle veil and detachable skirt.

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

We are still so in love so nothing has changed there - it's just now we get to be reminded of our love even more, with memories of our day and rings on our fingers. It was so special to celebrate how much we love each other with our friends and families.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

The amazing Gloria Gammo from GG Inspired organised our entire honeymoon. We just gave her a budget and three different sceneries we'd like - beach front, rainforest and outback. She absolutely nailed it, and found all of this for us in Queensland. We went to Hamilton Island, The Daintree Rainforest, and Mount Mulligan.

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

We had a long engagement so had time to organise everything gradually. This really took the stress out of wedding planning, and was easy to lock in our preferred vendors so far in advance (or be on a waitlist for your favourite shoes!). It did get stressful as the day got closer, but just remember the most important part is you're getting married to the love of your life and all the other details don't really matter. You'll be so distracted with all the fun and being overwhelmed with love throughout the day!
