Christina & Josh

How did you meet your husband, Josh?

I first met my husband, Joshua, back in 2014, when I was working as a barista at the local shopping centre. We first crossed paths in what was thought to be a simple retail transaction. I had lost my phone, and so went a few shops down to the phone store to get a new one - and somehow I managed to get dinner and a movie thrown into the contract by this handsome stranger! Josh would often come in for a coffee, whilst I'd find any excuse to buy that latest phone accessory.

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

His personality. Josh is incredibly charismatic, fun-loving, positive, and so generous.

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We had been together 5 1/2 years by the time we were married. Josh proposed to me the day after our 4 years, after throwing me off by saying he wasn't yet in the right place to get engaged (still, such a salesman!). He proposed whilst we were out on a hike right by a beautiful lake - it was perfectly intimate, and I just melt every time I think about it.

Describe your wedding in one word:

It's so hard to find a single word - but I would say Magical!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

I have a few - Being pumped up by my sis-in law and bridesmaids moments before walking out, seeing him for the first time down the isle, getting our photos taken, and dancing to our favourite song - Mr Brightside!

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

We were married at White Hill Estate,  located in one of South Australia's most beautiful wine regions, Mclaren Vale.
We were looking for a venue that was DIY, gave us the whole weekend to stay there and setup with friends, and complimented our boho theme. It ticked all of our boxes and more!

Any advice for other brides-to-be?

Give yourself time, and try to enjoy the process and much as possible. Ask for help when things get a little overwhelming, and don't take on too much diy - this is your day to relax and fun! Also, pinterest is awesome, but can set unrealistic expectations - be mindful of whats achievable early on.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

My dress was from Adelaide Bridal Collective, designed by Jack Sullivan. My dressmaker made a few alterations to the original design to really personalise it! We removed the v-neck sleeves, added armbands, and hemmed the front of the dress to see my gorgeous shoes!

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

Honestly, not too much different! Although we certainly have some more free time now to spend together away from planning!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Unfortunately due to Covid our honeymoon plans were cancelled for now. But we are so fortunate to have had our wedding when we did, so we are totally okay with this. We will just go for a longer amount of time when we can travel again!

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Amazing! I just adored the shoes and anklets, and no matter how hard I tried to find something in person, I couldn't get them out of my mind. They complimented the theme so perfectly, and Angie was so lovely to deal with. I was nervous about ordering online, but she made the process smooth and easy.
