How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Incredible! I actually wore my shoes twice - once for our legal ceremony in Gibraltar with a mini dress, and again for our big day in Italy. They felt like they were made for me.

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Gardenia Closed Toe Satin Bridal Heels. It is so rare to find a shoe that is genuinely stylish and "high fashion" without sacrificing comfort. I felt like a princess, but I could actually dance and walk the Tuscan hills!

How did you meet your partner?

We met the modern way- on Hinge! Felipe is Brazilian-Canadian and was completing his PhD in Cambridge when our paths crossed.

How long have you been together and how did they propose?

We’ve been together for four years. Felipe proposed after a year and a half in Rome at the Villa Borghese. It was in a quiet, intimate spot, and he simply said, "So I guess this is a good time to ask if you want to marry me?" It was perfectly "us."

What is the most amazing thing about your person?

Felipe has this incredible humor; he brings a lightness to every room and can make anyone laugh. He’s the smartest person I know, but also the most genuine and kind.

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Precious.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

It’s a tie! First, having a "global gathering" of everyone we love from Brazil, Canada, England, and beyond in one place - knowing that specific group of humans might never be all together again made every second feel heartbreakingly special.

Second, the ceremony itself. Our celebrant quoted Winnie the Pooh (who anyone that knows me can attest, I have a massive soft spot for): "Piglet says: ‘We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?’ Pooh answers: ‘Even longer.’" It captured our bond perfectly.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

We got married at Antica Fattoria Di Paterno in Tuscany, Italy. We wanted to return to Italy after our engagement in Rome. We love the culture, the food, and the light. The moment we saw the venue, we knew it was the one.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

My gown was by Trish Peng, purchased from the wonderful Frances Day Bridal. They were amazing - they even custom-made a "bow of dreams" for my hair using the excess hem of my dress!

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

It feels like a beautiful reinforcement of the love we’ve felt from the very start. It’s the best feeling in the world.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We have a big adventure planned! We are starting in Canada to visit family, then heading to our favorite place, Disney World Florida, for two weeks, before finishing with some R&R in the Dominican Republic.

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

I felt a lot of anxiety on the morning of the wedding, but the moment I saw Felipe, it all fell away. My advice: trust that everything will be perfect. You’ll want to live inside that day forever, so soak up every single second.
