Megan & Emile's Outdoor Celebration of Love

MEGAN WEARS OUR PASSION HEELS IN RUBY

Photographer: Hannah Dunckel of Duckel Haus

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

I first bought a pair on Poshmark to wear for my bridal shower, I ended up wearing something different but loved them. I knew I wanted a colored pair for the wedding and loved the red velvet pair.

Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?

The Passion Ruby Low Heels. I bought them early to break them in and wore them to our dance classes. They were the most comfortable heels I have ever worn and I got so many compliments when I wore them. I wore them and danced in them all night.

How did you and your husband meet?

Emile and I met on Tinder 6 years ago. He was in my town at a sprint car race which put us close enough to match. We chatted for a few weeks then met in person on October 7th, 2018 for our first date.

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We went on a hike early one morning after Thanksgiving with our puppy and my mom and her dog. We got married on our 5 year anniversary, and just celebrated our first wedding anniversary!

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

Emile is the nicest human I have ever met, he will always bring me chocolate and flowers after a bad day, give every niece or nephew sweets or takes the time to listen to everyone.

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Intentional

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

Seeing everything we planned for a year come together and getting to celebrate with all of our family together in one place.

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

Cedar Ridge in Seymour, Indiana. I really struggled finding a venue that was not a barn, Emile found our venue while searching online. We both love the outdoors and wanted to be outside in nature but wanted a covered area for our reception.

Who created your gorgeous gown?

Jenny Yoo, veil from Nestina, I added a blusher also, because you only get one chance to wear a veil!

Are there any suppliers that you would recommend to brides in your area?

Our wedding would not be the intentional, gorgeous day it was without Christy Wilson of Creative in Bloom and team. She designed all of our stationary and invitations. She was able to keep our vision on track and snagged the best florist Dani and Ash at For The Beauty Floral as well as our cake artist Haley Dow Cake Co. First Class Catering was able to help us come up with our South African dinner menu to tie in Emile's heritage. Emile's mom, Hannah Dunckel, our photographer and our Videographer, a family friend Duane Busick

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

It's so fun! I was the girl who always dreamed of her wedding and it was everything I could have asked for. I'm so grateful for everyone that helped and so happy to have found my person.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We honeymooned at Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica a month after our wedding.  The week after our wedding we spent in a cabin with Emile's family from South Africa which was so special.

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

Initially, make a huge list of everything you want to do, then narrow it down to the things that are important to you. We got a great piece of advice early and I think it made the whole day. Take a minute to just look at everyone and take it all in. Stay by your partner's side the whole night, it helps keep things on track and you get to keep that special feeling of being together and remember it all together.
