Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

Acre Eatery, Camperdown.

We are locals to the Inner West, Sydney and the beautiful venue spoke to us as soon as we set foot inside.

The space is rustic, lush and green, a beautiful nook and a rural setting amongst the inner city. They have a big focus on sustainability as they grow their own produce onsite, which really impressed me. I am a vegan and it was important to me not to serve any meat at my wedding, though we compromised as my husband is an omnivore, so we were able to include some dairy in the menu. The venue happily helped me create a menu with many vegan and vegetarian options and it all came together so beautifully!

What’s your husbands name?

James <3

Who created your gorgeous gown?

Spell & The Gypsy Collective

What is one word that would best describe your wedding?

Magical

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

James astounds me daily with his kindness, humour and unwavering love and support.

What was the most challenging part of organising a wedding?

Making decisions! I was careful about not giving myself too many options on any one category, but as stressful as the lead up to the big day was, in hindsight, it actually all went rather smoothly!

Any funny moments?

Plenty! It's all a bit of a blur as we were on cloud 9. But the moments that spring to mind..

My mum wasn't paying attention when I needed to hand over my bouquet during the ceremony, so I had to improvise and hand it to the first person I locked eyes with.

After our celebrant announced us as husband and wife, one of my friends who was supposed to set off the petal popper in unison with another, wasn't able to make it work, so there was a bit of a delay on the second one, but we did manage to get the first one going at the right moment - which you'll see in the photos.

The speeches! My brother in law was quite drunk and was slurring quite a bit, but it was all in good fun.

And watching my brother improvise a speech as I asked him to make one about 15 minutes before it was due. This was payback for when he married his wife several years back and didn't tell me I was a witness until the moment I had to sign the document ;)

Watching my nieces (flower girl and ring bearer) absolutely rock the polaroid camera and take it upon themselves to go around getting photos of everyone. I loved how into it they got, it was just the cutest thing!!

What was your aisle song?

Cat Power - Sea of Love

What is one scene in the wedding that will forever be in your memory?

I'll never forget the moment when I started walking down the aisle and seeing the beaming face of my husband to be. It was extremely moving. We didn't think we'd cry during the ceremony as we're both fairly laid back and we'd been together for 8 years, but I won't ever forget seeing James tear up as I was walking towards him. It was just a stunning moment.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We haven't gone on our honeymoon yet, sadly! But we're hoping to go to Japan over the upcoming summer holidays as a belated honeymoon :D

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Wonderful :) I knew I wanted the espadrilles as soon as I saw them. I thought they had sold out at one point but the rep I spoke to via Etsy informed me that more would be coming and to watch out for the link as it became available. It was not long before they were restocked and I snapped them up. They arrived only a few days later in beautiful, sustainable packaging. The classic simplicity of these shoes are just divine and I will treasure these very special beauties forever.
