Lindsey & Paul
How did you meet your husband, Paul?
We met in our very own fairy-tale type of way. We love music festivals and both happened to get tickets to the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium, in 2017. I journeyed all the way to Belgium from California and Paul road tripped with his friends from Germany. I was in line for the festival camping entrance on the very first day, with my best friend and we happen to be standing directly behind a group of German men. After a bit of talking it turned out they had all been to the festival before so they knew exactly where to camp and how to navigate the festival grounds, so naturally we had to stick with them as we were Tomorrowland newbies. They were all very nice and welcoming, especially Paul. He was so quick to strike up a friendly conversation and he made sure my friend and I were safe and having fun. Him and I hit it off super quick and had a wonderful weekend together. Thinking that it could be the last time we ever saw each other we had a nice farewell and were on our separate ways (me traveling through Europe and Paul back to Berlin). Fast forward 1.5 months and I was in Berlin visiting Paul for what was supposed to be just a few short days, but quickly turned into forever. Little did we know we had found our soul mates.
How long have you been together and how did he propose?
We have been together for just over 2 years now. We were in California visiting my family and friends for the holidays and he proposed on Christmas Day of 2018 with all my family around.
What is the most amazing thing about your man?
Oh there are so many things I love about him, but how he loves unconditionally and is so compassionate are two of my favourites.
How would you describe your wedding in one word?
LOVE. There was so much love and laughter, and thats exactly what I wanted.
What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
My favourite memory was both of our parents meeting and my family getting to meet all of our close friends and family here in Germany. It warmed my heart to see everyone having such a great time together.
Is there anything you would change?
I would add more time. It goes by so quickly.
Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?
Our wedding was located in the countryside of Germany, about 1.5 hours south of Berlin. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and had many apartments on sight which could sleep many guests near and far. We also had our ceremony at the venue, so keeping everything in one location was amazing.
Any advice for our brides-to-be?
The day goes by so quickly. Try to enjoy each moment, relax and have your team of supporters do whatever you need done. It all comes together in the end.
You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?
I love being married and I’m in exactly the right place in my life. I am so happy to have finally found my person, my soul-mate. It took a while, but was more than worth the wait. :)
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We travelled around Germany with my family right after the wedding, then travelled to California for 2 weeks to visit more family and friends. In the next few years we would like to get that tropical, paradise honeymoon in.
How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?
Super seamless. I think the most difficult part was choosing which pair of heels I wanted. They shipped perfectly to Germany and I’m very happy with the customer service and quick delivery. The heels themselves are SO comfortable. I wore them for around 12 hours on my wedding day and wore them again 2 weeks later for a friends wedding. I love how I can wear them over and over and I can mix and match them with the included ties and the barefoot sandals.
