ASHLEY WEARS OUR MELODY LOW HEELS

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?
I decided on my shoes before I even found my dress. So I knew that I wanted a dress with a slit so they could be seen. When I went to order my Melody Heels I saw the Honey Sandal and couldn’t resist. They were perfect for my rehearsal look. Everyone always says their shoes get ruined on their wedding day, but mine still look like new! They’re so gorgeous, I can’t wait to wear them with some other looks on my honeymoon.
Which shoes did you wear for your wedding?
I wore the Honey Sandal to my rehearsal and the Melody Low Heel in ivory on my wedding day.
What was your favourite thing about your shoes?
I love the beading on the Melody Heel. It’s so unique and perfectly complimented the lace and beading on the back of my dress. I was also a dancer, so I loved that the ankle wrap reminded me of pointe ballet shoes.
How did you and your husband meet?
John and I met the first day of college at the University of Vermont. After becoming friends, we quickly realised that were from the same area of Connecticut and had known of each other for a long time but had never officially met before.
How long have you been together and how did he propose?
We were together for 11 years when he proposed. We had a Saturday morning routine where we would get cappuccinos and croissants from our favourite coffee shop and drink them overlooking Lake Champlain. He asked me when we were overlooking the lake, and then surprised me with a romantic night away in our favourite town Manchester, Vermont. He planned for some of my family to surprise me and we had the most delicious dinner together.
What is the most amazing thing about your man?
His sense of humour. He makes me laugh every day.
How would you describe your wedding in one word?
Laughter
What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
The music and dancing with all of our friends and family. We had an epic late night dance party in the historic inn after our reception. Our DJ was fantastic, he totally nailed our vision for the music.
Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?
Our wedding was at the Atlantic Inn in Block Island, Rhode Island. Block Island was where we took our first vacation, and we’ve gone every year since, so when we got engaged we knew that we wanted to get married in Block. The Atlantic Inn was perfect for our wedding aesthetic because we wanted a mix of historic New England and rustic Mediterranean. The Inn was built in 1879 and sits atop the highest point on Block Island so the guests had views of the Atlantic Ocean from the veranda, ceremony location, and reception tent. The Inn was large enough to accommodate our wedding party and family, and we were the only ones onsite all weekend which gave us an additional intimate feel.
Who created your gorgeous gown?
Alexandra Grecco
You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?
We’ve been dating for so long I didn’t think it would feel any different, but it’s so nice and relaxing to be on the other side of wedding planning and enjoying our time together as a couple.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We stayed on Block Island after the wedding for a mini-moon and we are planning a honeymoon to Italy in May.
Any advice for our brides-to-be?
Be intentional with your guest list and don’t be afraid to say no. The day is about the two of you, so make sure you only have people present who will enhance your day. We opted for a medium sized wedding with 90 guests and it was perfect.
