We believe comfort and quality are of the highest priorities and we aim to provide a shoe that fits like it was made especially for you! Below we have some helpful tips on caring for your Forever Soles heels so they can be treasured.
Suede and Leather Protection
Protecting and caring for leather shoes or suede shoes is essential because these are natural materials that benefit from weather protection. There are numerous brands available for suede fabric protection and suede fabric cleaner, the most popular of which are Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protector and Scotchgard Suede and Nubuck Protector. When purchasing leather products from Forever Soles please remember that it is a natural product and some variations between pairs in terms of colour and finishes may occur.
Waterproof Spray for Light Colour Fabrics
Shoes are constantly subjected to the harshest conditions as you kick around in them having fun. If you have an outdoor wedding, the weather may ruin your wedding shoes! Some of the most popular shoe protection sprays are Kiwi Rain and Stain Protector, Crep Protect Ultimate Rain and Stain Spray, and Kiwi Boot Protector.
Condition Your Leather
We all love the comfort of leather shoes, but white/ivory leather can be easily marked. These colours will require more care to ensure they look their best for your big day and can be salvaged afterwards. The feel and appearance of a leather product contribute to its enjoyment, so keep it conditioned and soft to get the most out of your wedding shoes. A leather conditioner can also help to soften and stretch shoes that feel too tight. Leather conditioner is a product that is designed to be easily absorbed by leather to nourish the fibres and restore their natural flexibility, ensuring that your leather wedding shoes remain perfect!
Gel inserts and heel pads
We have added extra padding in the sole of shoe, but if you need more, gel cushions can enhance your level of comfort when wearing heels. It also helps fill out the shoe if you have a very narrow foot. You can find many brands but the ones we love are Party Feet.
Repairing Damaged heels
For heeled products, check your heel tips. If your heel tips start to wear down with excessive wear, take them to a good shoe repair shop and have them replaced to avoid causing further damage to your shoes.
Cleaning post wedding
Do not machine wash your Forever Soles footwear as this will cause serious damage. You can actually get your shoes back to their beautiful state using a light wet cloth or clean brush. If your shoes accidentally get wet on your special day, give them a quick clean and then stuff them with white tissue paper and allow them to dry naturally, away from a direct heat source. This will prevent the outer materials drying out in a bad shape and cracking. If you really did a number on your shoes, you can take them to a dry cleaner.
You may want to package your shoes up safely and beautifully to preserve them for a lifetime! After your shoes are clean, wrap them in white tissue and place them in a box. You will need to consider mould-proof bags and storing them somewhere with reasonable airflow. Depending on the type of material your shoes are, you may be able to include them with your dress in the preservation box. Talk with your preservationist to see whether this is possible.
Care for your jewellery
Please treat your barefoot sandals, anklets and jewellery with gentle care. The gold and silver metals are an alloy based metal and not real silver and gold. The metals may fade in time but should shine up nicely with a jewellery cloth.
Avoid exposing metals to wet sand or water.
Salt will cause the metals to erode quickly, if you get your jewellery wet, rinse them under fresh water and towel dry immediately. This may help avoid damage.
