Mountain Wedding: Ashley & Nicholas' Rustic Celebration in the Forest
ASHLEY WEARS OUR PASSION HEELS IN EMERALD

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?
It was wonderful! I loved that I found green shoes that felt elevated enough to wear for our wedding day. They were incredibly comfortable too!
Which shoes did you wear for your wedding? What was your favourite thing about your shoes?
The Passion Heels in Emerald. I didn’t have to sacrifice looks for comfort! I was able to hike uphill in them on rocks and dirt terrain in the mountains to our ceremony space.
How did you and your husband meet?
Nicholas and I met on a dating app! We both fell hard and fast.
How long have you been together and how did he propose?
We have been together for seven years. Nicholas spent six weekends taking me on elaborate dates and trips in the mountains to try and throw me off the scent. I knew a proposal was coming, and I’m difficult to surprise. The sixth weekend I figured it wasn’t coming any time soon. On the Monday morning after we woke up at sunrise and went to Mesa Overlook, with an incredible view of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak on our way to brunch. He asked our dog’s permission and then popped the question.
What is the most amazing thing about your man?
Nicholas is incredibly patient. I am a quick-paced and always-moving person, he’s my grounding rock. He balances me out and catches me every time I jump without looking down in life.
How would you describe your wedding in one word?
Bliss. It was truly my perfect day.
What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
Our foot-washing ceremony was so special to us. We wanted our unity ceremony to be representative of the marriage we want to lead as equals. Our marriage goal is to be equal teammates and players; that doesn’t always mean 50/50 work, though. The foot-washing ceremony was symbolic of the necessary service and devotion to make a marriage truly work. We plan to get the bowl back out whenever times get tough to reset. It was the most emotional part of our ceremony for me.
Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?
Our wedding was a Windy Point Group Campground in White River National Forest. We chose it for its location surrounded by the mountains we love so much. It was rustic but close enough to town that we could still have all the amenities we wanted for our guests.
Who created your gorgeous gown?
Both of my gowns were from Pronovias! The first gown was Syrinx with custom sleeves made by my Nana, who is a bridal seamstress. My second gown is Ixion.
You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?
Honeymoon phase round two! It’s incredible that after seven years there’s the excitement of the beginning again. We are working hard to be intentional in keeping the love alive for many years to come.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We are headed to Europe! We’re visiting France, Switzerland, Germany & Netherlands.
