TILLY WEARS OUR BLOOM MULES

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?
Incredible! I have absurdly small feet, and the Forever Soles team was amazingly helpful in helping me find a style that would fit my feet and was amazingly helpful in arranging the returns of the pair that didn’t fit.
Which shoes did you wear for your wedding?
Bloom mules - Pearl Flowery ivory Bridal
How did you and your husband meet?
Tinder, like all modern-day romances.
How long have you been together, and how did he propose?
We’ve been together for 5 years, and he proposed just after a year together in March 2020, in front of what was probably the first Covid cruise ship (and the opera house/harbour bridge)
It was simple and sweet and very personal, and then we went and got sushi and pancakes on the rocks.
What is the most amazing thing about your man?
He’s so kind and caring, he does everything for myself and our son.
He shows his emotions and doesn’t sweat the small stuff.
He always makes me laugh and manages to diffuse any disagreements just by smiling at me.
How would you describe your wedding in one word?
Laidback
What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
I couldn’t give just one. The whole day was amazing. From a 5 am (before my alarm at 6.30) wake up, having early morning coffee with 2 of my bridesmaids, to slowly getting ready, to getting to the venue, and finishing up my hair and makeup, having one of my bridesmaids doing my own makeup and spending that bonding moment with her, riding a 4WD golf buggy to the ceremony, seeing my fiancé holding our little human in his arms, eating pizza and gelato and smashing a ponyata instead of an actual cake. Plus, the morning after recovery breakfast by the pool was wonderful, too!
Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?
The woods farm, Jervis Bay.
I loved this venue but always assumed it would be way over budget; we ended up going to visit on an open day - 3.5 years after getting engaged and noticed a last-minute deal which made it within budget. Our dream venue! We loved the relaxed atmosphere we could create and having everyone able to stay onsite with us to keep the party going.
Who created your gorgeous gown?
Spell (formerly spell and the Gypsea collective) - it is the Elsa Gown from their 2019 collection, which I found brand new with tags, for over half price on Facebook Marketplace in my size the day after we booked our venue! They no longer do bridal, so I’m absolutely stoked with this find.
Any other suppliers you'd recommend to other brides-to-be in your area?
I did my own florals! We went to the Sydney flower markets about 6 weeks before the wedding and bought a bunch of dried blooms (so my partner didn’t get allergies) and then put them together as a little bonding moment for the girls as mini “hens.”
Our celebrant went above and beyond for us.
You're a wife now! How does it feel to tie the knot finally?
About time!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We haven’t gone yet, but we are planning to take our 2-year-old to Japan in a few months!
We took him to Europe when he was 11 months old and love travelling the world with him.
Any advice for our brides-to-be?
Don’t sweat the small stuff; take a look at a traditional wedding budget breakdown and delete everything that you personally don’t care about.
